(BALTIMORE – October 18, 2019) – Maryland Congressman Elijah Cummings’ passing caught a lot of people off guard. And while funeral arrangements are being made, that hasn’t stopped media outlets from “jumping the gun” and spewing names to replace the seat.

So, to get straight to the nitty gritty, former Congressman and former CEO of the NAACP Kweisi Mfume is the most qualified person out there to re-take that 7th Congressional seat.  Hands down, he has the experience, the qualifications, and he would return with 10 years of seniority under his belt.

While it might be early, as the saying goes – “the early bird gets the worm.”

The 7th Congressional seat, which includes Baltimore, has a heap of challenges. We need a person who will make Baltimore a priority. I believe in my heart of hearts that Kweisi Mfume can do that … and do it well!

Go, Kweisi! Go!
