Vicentia “Tia” Rattini to Speak at AMAC Economic Opportunity & Policy Hosted by BWI at Washington Marriott, Sept. 11 & 12

(WASHINGTON, DC – September 9, 2019) – Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall Airport) will host the Airport Minority Advisory Council’s (AMAC) Economic Opportunity and Policy Forum from September 11 – 12, 2019 during Congressional Black Caucus Week.  The forum will be held at the Washington Marriott Metro Center in downtown Washington, DC. The Economic Opportunity and Policy Forum will feature a number of speakers and presentations, including Vicentia “Tia” Rattini.

Tia has over 30 years of business management experience in both the private and public sectors. Her last nine (9) years have been dedicated to the State of Maryland Minority Business Enterprise Program. Tia just started with the Maryland Aviation Administration Office of Fair Practices in December 2017. She comes to MAA from the Maryland Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services (DPSCS), where she developed initiatives to increase MBE performance.

Her work involved educating/assisting procurement staff, contract monitors, prime contractors and subcontractors on MBE Program laws, regulations, and policies, especially in how they relate to and affect contract participation.  She served as a member of the MDOT Minority Business Enterprise Advisory Committee (MBEAC) for over seven (7) years. A solutions-oriented achiever, she is well known for her organizational skills and for thinking outside the box.

Tia was awarded Employee of the Year in 2012. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with an emphasis in Computer Information Systems from the Notre Dame of Maryland University.  She Graduated Cum Laude and is a member of the Delta Mu Delta- National Honor Society in Business Administration and Alpha Sigma Lambda- National Honor Society for Adult Learners in Continuing Higher Education.
