BREAKING NEWS: African American Candidates for Maryland House Speaker Seat Form Alliance

(BALTIMORE – April 25, 2019) – Delegate Adrienne Jones (D- Baltimore County; District 10) and Delegate Dereck Davis (D-Prince George’s County; District 25) will announce their joint effort to elect the first African American to the position of Speaker of the House of the Maryland General Assembly on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 10:30 the Reginald F. Lewis Museum located at 830 E Pratt St, Baltimore, MD 21202.

In forming this alliance, the two are bridging a once wide geographical and political gap between Baltimore County and Prince George’s County and engaging democratic delegates from counties across Maryland and Baltimore City to assert the party’s majority control of the state’s legislative body.

Each of the candidates will offer remarks on their plan to pave a path for victory with further remarks by House Majority Whip Delegate Talmadge Branch of Baltimore’s 45th District.
