(BALTIMORE – April 10, 2019) – Coppin State’s Brooke Fields has been named a BOXTOROW Second Team All-American, it was announced by the organization on Monday afternoon. This is the third-straight year that the Eagles have had a player named to the BOXTOROW All-America team.
A senior from Owings Mills, Md., Fields was a First Team All-MEAC selection after leading Coppin with 17.0 points per game, 51 3-pointers and 119 assists. Fields performed even better in league play going for 19.9 points and 4.7 assists per game while making 96-of-118 (81.4%) Free throws.
Fields scored in double figures in 25 games times this season, reaching at least 20 points in 12 of those contests. She also had 11 games with at least five assists. Fields had two double-doubles on the year with a season-high 26 points and career-high ten rebounds at Delaware State, as well as a 19 points, 11 assist effort against the Hornets on Senior Night. Her 11 assists were a career-high and set a Physical Education Complex single-game record by a CSU player.
In her four-year career, which included the first three seasons at Roberts Wesleyan College in upstate New York, Fields totaled 1,736 points (14.5 ppg), 533 field goals, 203 3-pointers, 467-of-608 (76.8%) free throws, 354 rebounds (3.0 rpg), 353 assists (2.9 apg) and 145 steals in 120 games.
