Who is Edsel?
Edsel Brown holds a B.A., in Government from Ohio University, a M.A. in Political Science with a specialization in Public Administration from Ohio University, and a J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law. He has also completed the Venture Capital Institute (National Association of Small Business Investment Companies/National Venture Capital Association) and participated in the Minority Business Executive Program at Dartmouth College. He is a licensed Attorney and a member of the Bars of the District of Columbia and Pennsylvania.
His experience includes serving as an Investment Consultant to several Investment/Financial Services Firms, and as the Assistant Administrator of the Office of Investment and Innovation (Small Business Innovation Research-SBIR/Small Business Technology Transfer-STTR Programs), U. S. Small Business Administration, Washington, DC. He has had the privilege of testifying before the U. S. House Small Business Committee Re: SBIR (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csnLldjS4nk)
Further, he is the current Principal of Edsel M. Brown Jr. Advisors (Financial Services), and also the Principal of the Law Offices of Edsel M. Brown Jr. (Entertainment and Sports Law) located in Washington, D.C.
He has always been a key member of his community and has belonged to several Chambers of Commerce including Calvert County Chamber (MD), Annapolis/Anne Arundel County Chamber (MD), DC Chamber, Calvert County Business Alliance, and the Black Chamber of Commerce of Anne Arundel County. He has also served on the Calvert County (MD) Economic Development Commission, and is the present Chairman of Economic Development for the Maryland State Conference of NAACP Branches.
