Honorees include longtime supporter Rev. Franklin Lance. His work, especially in the Mondawmin Community, is impeccable.

Pastor Franklin Lance, D. Min., is a native of Baltimore, Maryland; Pastor Lance is a product of its public school system.  He attended and graduated with honors (top ten) from Forest Park High School   He is a Magna cum Laude graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) from which he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Management.  Pastor Lance is also a graduate of the Howard University School of Divinity (HUSD) from which he obtained both a Master of Divinity and a Doctorate of Ministry (D. Min) degree.  His D. Min. dissertation, which focused on the efficacy of the 21st Black Church, was recognized by HUSD as the outstanding D. Min. project of his graduating class.

He is a preacher’s kid (PK) and a dynamic preacher and teacher of the gospel and richly blessed with the charisma of preaching, teaching, and leadership.  Having been raised in a Christian household and active in numerous church ministries, Pastor Lance has become a social justice pastor and preacher.  He lives with the bible in one hand and the daily news in the other.  He seeks to speak truth to power and lift the oppressed.  Dr. Lance’s ministerial passion is that the church universal must be engaged in and serious about “ministries that matter.”  Towards this end, Dr. Lance is committed to developing ministries that would make as their focus HIV-AIDS education, prevention and counseling, substance abuse treatment and referrals, pre-GED and GED courses, convict re-entry programs, financial literacy, debt mitigation, and political empowerment.
