Who is Gerald?

Gerald Richardson has served with the Maryland Transportation Authority Police since 2004 and currently is the Commander of SWAT. Some of his assignments, past and present, includes but are not limited to: Drill Instructor, Use of Force Instructor, Non-Bias Policing Training Coordinator, Firearms Instructor, Color Guard member, and Promotional Process Subject Matter Expert. Throughout the duration of the 2015 Baltimore Uprising, Gerald was on the front line. Serving as a Commander of SWAT has afforded him the privilege and opportunity to design and implement terrorism response tactics for the Port of Baltimore and BWI-THURGOOD MARSHALL Airport.

Gerald has earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Management and a Master’s of Science in Organizational Leadership from Johns Hopkins University. Gerald is not only passionate about his career and education, but also music. His love for playing his bass guitar has allowed him to not only play at church every Sunday, but also the opportunity to perform all across the country and internationally.

In addition to being an innovator in law enforcement and having a passion for creating music, Gerald helped to create the 300 Youth COR of the 300 Man March. Seeing first-hand the results of the plague of injustice and failed public systems on black men, Gerald strives to be a positive example and role model.

Gerald was born in Baltimore City and currently resides in Baltimore County; one of his future goals is to utilize his education and tactical training within the Federal Government.
