REGISTER OF WILLS HOSTS BACK TO SCHOOL GIVEAWAY

Belinda Conaway gives back to the community through various community initiatives

(BALTIMORE – August 25, 2016) – On Saturday, August 27, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the Register of Wills for Baltimore City, Belinda Conaway, and members of the ROW staff will be handing out free school supplies to the citizens of Baltimore City outside their offices located inside the Circuit Courthouse (111 N. Calvert St.). The annual Back-to-School giveaway is a part of an ongoing effort designed by Register Conaway in actively engaging the citizens of Baltimore, educating them on various issues related to her office.

“I understand how hard it is for parents during this time of the year, having raised two children of my own, as well as being a former educator,” said the first-term Register of Wills. “Therefore, as a public servant, I believe it is my duty to the citizens of this great city to give back when I can, and this is just one of the initiatives me and my staff have put in place to not only assist those less fortunate, but also to educate the community on the importance of having a will, registering it for safekeeping, as well as planning their estate.”

Conaway says she has various other activities and promotional programs planned, such as her office’s ongoing efforts to educate community associations, neighborhood organizations and local groups by attending their monthly meetings and events. Conaway says her office is also in the process of releasing an audio and visual PSA commercial to be released next month and shown on various local television stations and heard on several radio stations. She says these communications will be aligned with the information included in her quarterly newsletter, along with the informational material her office passes out at various meetings and events.

“Our community engagement office is a vital tool in my efforts of ensuring that every citizen of this city knows the ins and outs of what our office does, and how we are here to address any questions, concerns or issues they may have as it relates to wills and estates,” says Conaway. “I believe in taking a holistic approach to helping my constituents in any way that I can.”
