(BALTIMORE – Secretary of General Services Gail Bassette today announced the appointment of Thomas E. Reisdorf as Assistant Secretary for Facilities Operations and Maintenance for the Maryland Department of General Services. The Department of General Services maintains state-owned facilities across Maryland. As assistant secretary, Mr. Reisdorf will have direct oversight for the Annapolis Capital Complex, Baltimore Public Buildings and Grounds, Inner Harbor Complex and District Court/Multi-Service Centers.
“Tom Reisdorf brings to this core responsibility of General Services an extensive career as a logistics executive,” said Secretary Bassette. “He has experience in fleet management, administration, customer service, leased properties, facilities maintenance, inventory control, purchasing and human resources in both the private and public sectors.”
Reisdorf’s work for the State of Maryland includes Facilities Liaison, Office of Procurement and Logistics, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and Director, Office of General Services, Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. He also brings to the position years of experience as an operations or distribution manager for such companies as the Sperry Corporation, Keebler Company and Pier 1 Imports. In addition, he served in the Air Force as a Security Police Officer. Reisdorf earned a B.A. from Duquesne University in Pennsylvania.
