Catonya Lester is a firm believer that “it’s better to give than to receive”, and greatly enjoys utilizing her time and talents to empower people. Lester is currently involved with several community organizations such as Empowering Minds of Maryland’s Youth (Public Relations Specialist), Priceless Gown Project (Vice President, Public Relations Specialist and Events Coordinator), Glam Gurus (Founder and Makeup Artist), Women of Power (Member) and Dainty In Pink (Public Relations Specialist and Events Coordinator) to name a few. She is also an experienced Public Relations Specialist, Event Coordinator, Makeup Artist, Actor and Model. Lester also started her own public relations and events coordination company in November 2012, Lester Public Relations and Events, where she helps to market, brand and promote individuals, businesses/organizations and events. She has worked with a variety of clients to include Comediennes/Actresses Mo’Nique (Atlanta) and Queen Aishah (Los Angeles), Youth Rap Artist Lil Key (Baltimore), and The Merge Summit (Los Angeles), to name a few. Lester resided in Baltmore City as a youth and young adult and graduated from Western Senior High School. She currently attends Morgan State University as a Public Relations student in the School of Journalism and Global Communications.
Lester obtained her Professional Makeup Artistry License in Maryland in January 2008 via M.A.C. Cosmetics, and has enjoyed flourishing in the arena that enables her to enhance the inner and outer beauty of people through her companies Glam Gurus and Cat’s Creations Makeup Artistry. Her modeling and acting experiences include runway shows and promotional venues. She has worked with a variety of designers, stylists, photographers and business owners, and has also displayed her skills as a professional runway coach. She has appeared in various commercials, movies and theater projects such as “The Forum Caterers”, “Live Free or Die Hard”, “Something The Lord Made” and “Honor Amongst Thieves”. She enjoys performing different roles that allow her to expand her talents and exemplify a poignant message for her audience.
Lester currently lives in Cockeysville, MD with her two lovely daughters. Her other areas of interest are public speaking, voiceovers and sewing fashionable apparel. Lester loves to spend time with her family, travel, network, and connect with friends in person and online. Her favorite motto is “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade and lemon pie.”
